Vanster/ Bagster Challenge in Milwaukee

Waste Management came out with the Bagster to address the DIY residential construction waste market. The Bagster holds up to 3300 lbs and is approximately 3 cubic yards. According to the WM website, "The Bagster bag is available in one size only". The bag is 8' long by 4' wide by 2'6" tall, big enough to hold full sheets of plywood or drywall". Full sheets of plywood and drywall fit into the bag nicely when they are new, but not when they are extracted or demolished. The problem with the Bagster is it's too small. There is too much variability of size when doing residential demolition. The Vanster, on the other hand, can hold enough volume of two Bagster bags, with room to spare. And the costs are almost identical. Although the Bagster is a bit small it does have some utility. It's strong enough to haul away 2-3 slabs of concrete and large enough to hold a small loveseat. The cost to purchase the bag including pick-up is about $130.00 The Vanster does not require a bag purchase and the cost for pick- up of 3 cubic yards is $75.00 for construction debris.
