E-cycle Tip - Avoid Craig's list

Navigating through an online search for a trusted "electronics recyclers in Milwaukee" can be an overwhelming proposition. My advice is to eliminate some of the clutter first.

1. Avoid Craigslist. Although Craigslist may be a good option for some services, e-waste collection is not one of them. When it comes to sensitive data and environmental responsibility look for someone you can trust. Ask around, call the Department of Natural Resources, visit the Milwaukee Public Library in Bay View.

When you do get a hold of someone who recycles electronics, ask questions. A reputable e-waste collector should know the answers.  I suggest asking about the methods of data destruction? Who performs the data destruction? Where in the supply chain is the data destruction performed?
What happens to the hard drive after the data is destroyed? Where does it go? Do you sell or recycle collected e-waste?  Hope this helps. For additional questions feel free to contact michael@bvcurbside.com.  Good day.
